YOYO's story is a true one and has, unfortunately, as it too often happens, a tragic ending.
A puppy thrown on the bank
of a valley, found and rescued by a child in the neighbourhood and adopted by
us. The rest of our gang, consisting of 9 dogs and 3 cats, also accepted him.
It took almost 3 years of coexistence, friendship and joy until, one day, the
puppy ended up in the house garden poisoned, in torments as we could not
describe in words. This happened 2 years ago.
It was a time of crossroads,
revolt and trauma. We had to make a decision: to continue or to take revenge!
We decided to continue what we had already started a few years ago with other
animal lovers, veterinarians and the nearest shelter: to help the locals to
neuter their dogs or cats and to try to find people interested in adoptions.
We decided that there was
another kind of "revenge": that of doing even more good for the
unwanted animals, victims of the cruelty of some people. We have decided that
YOYO will spread its wings and watch over our future actions and that we will
co-opt the children in all our endeavors.
After years of hard work, we
took the step to formalize the actions by creating an association, which we
couldn't call anything other than: YOYO!
